Kathy, my Spiritual Director, walked with me for about 7 years… during the doctoral process and even beyond! She was a gift to me that greatly influences me to this day. 

 Kathy never missed an opportunity to say, “You’re living your dissertation!”

So, when you pick a topic for your dissertation, (and mine was a survey about how well pastors understood being surrendered to God’s purposes) of course, of course, of course, God has your life regularly dovetail with said topic… and on top of that, provides just the right Spiritual Director to point it out. Every. Single Time.

 My issues were about finding peace on the path. My prayer was “Lord, help me to rest in You.” 

 God sent Kathy as my companion for this leg of the race.
