As other cultures celebrate getting older while seeing the matriarch of the family as a source of wisdom, our society celebrates more the looks and appearance dismissing in a way what it took for a middle aged woman to get there. We get more information about our bodies when we go through puberty but for some reason talking about getting older is not something everyone wants to talk about.
Lissette is the owner of a skin care and nutritional wellness clinic. Since 1988 she has worked with women and has heard the same questions and concerns time after time about menopause. "As a middle-aged woman who works daily with women of the same age group, I saw a lack of knowledge and awareness and also a thirst for information about the changes brought on by aging and hormonal shifts. This is a bit of a taboo subject that no one wants to talk about and because of that, most women are ill-prepared for the complex physical and emotional changes that come with Menopause"
After having gone through a difficult menopause herself she felt compelled to help women understand the changes that are happening and to offer helpful solutions and that is what motivated to write her book on how to prepare for menopause, that is a must read for all women: Prepared to Pause: A Wellness Guide For Women. The book covers health and beauty subjects such as nutrition, skincare, make-up, sleep and hot flashes. Women of any age can benefit from reading this book and men can learn about what their partners are experiencing.
By the year 2025 there will be 1 billion women going through Menopause and 75% of them will experience hot flashes, night sweats, anxiety, weight gain, dry skin and more. Preparing yourself mentally and physically will help you weather the changes that are happening.
Lisette has been practicing in the wellness and beauty industry for over 35 years. She is a clinical Esthetician and has studied cosmetic chemistry, tattooing, massage as well as nutrition, health and science.
