North Korea and Russia are getting closer and closer - sharing troops, weapons, oil and other big ticket items. So what do both countries get out of this flourishing friendship? 

There are potentially a number of benefits but security is probably the most crucial for North Korea. For Russia it's about shoring up an ally and getting a bit of backup on the ground with its war with Ukraine, in the form of about 12000 North Korean troops.

Meanwhile, South Korea is doing some of Ukraine's bidding, trying to use North Korea's involvement in the war to motivate more support from the west. Our guest says Seoul is helping out with this 'info warfare' to buy some time before Trump returns to the White House. South Korea needs to be careful not to put the incoming US administration offside by getting too involved with the Ukraine and Russia war.
