Hey everyone, Shaun here from The Content Amplification Podcast. In today's special episode, which also happens to be on my birthday, I'm taking a slight detour from our usual content and marketing discussions. Instead, I'm diving into some personal reflections and lessons learned over the past year, both in life and in business, that I believe could be valuable for you, my listeners. Firstly, I talked about the rapid changes in the business world and how it's perfectly normal to feel a loss of control. With advancements in technology and shifts in human behavior, especially post-COVID, it's crucial to focus on what we can control. In my business, we're honing in on three key areas: what we can control, what we do well, and what brings us the most satisfaction and value for our clients. Next, I emphasized the importance of standing out to your customers. In a world full of similar services and products, the key differentiator is how you make your customers feel. From the first interaction on your website to the ongoing communication, it's vital to ensure your messaging is unique and resonates with your audience. Remember, over-communication is rarely a problem in a commodity-driven market. I also stressed the significance of having robust internal systems and processes. These systems should consistently deliver a great experience to your customers. However, it's equally important to get your team's buy-in for these processes. If a team member isn't on board, tough decisions might be necessary for the greater good of the business. Shifting gears to personal insights, I shared the importance of disconnecting from work. This past holiday season, I took a complete break for the first time in over 20 years, and the benefits were immense. It's crucial for entrepreneurs and business owners to find time to disconnect and be present with their loved ones. Finding your joy zone is another critical aspect. Identify what you truly love doing and make time for it. This could be a hobby, spending time with family, or just exploring new places. It's all about balancing work and personal life. Lastly, nurturing relationships is key. Whether it's with family, friends, or colleagues, maintaining strong relationships is vital for personal growth and happiness. It's easy to get caught up in work, but remember, those who care about you are just as important. As I celebrate my birthday, I want to express my gratitude for all of you who tune into this podcast. It's been a journey filled with growth and evolution, and I'm thrilled to share these insights with you. Whether you're here for business advice or life lessons, I hope this episode provides you with some valuable takeaways. So, as we navigate the complexities of business and life, let's remember to focus on what we can control, make our customers feel valued, implement effective systems, disconnect when needed, find our joy, and nurture our relati

While AI has been around for a while, it has recently gained significant attention in mainstream media and among marketers and business owners. Shaun believes that many people view AI as complicated and unimaginable for business owners, but he emphasizes that AI can be manageable, comparing it to another team member or hired person. Shaun discusses how AI can assist with tasks such as writing copy and improving content, particularly through a main AI terminology called chat GBT. However, it's important to note that the AI's performance relies on the quality of the content it has access to, and its knowledge is limited to learnings up until 2019. To address this limitation, plugins are available to enable referencing the internet. Nevertheless, the AI cannot differentiate between good and bad content, potentially leading to inaccurate or unreliable information. Thus, it is crucial for users to review all information provided by the AI for accuracy. Shaun emphasizes the importance of creating initial content in various formats, such as writing, videos, or podcasts. He mentions the existence of tools that can help reach a larger audience by repurposing content. Specifically, he refers to a tool that can transcribe and analyze full podcast episodes, providing timestamps and keywords. This tool can also be used for creating YouTube videos. Furthermore, Shaun discusses another tool that provides TikTok scripts for Instagram reels, LinkedIn posts, emails, and follow-up discussion questions. While acknowledging that this tool makes a big promise, Shaun believes it has done a pretty good job so far. Without this tool, creating all that content would have taken a considerable amount of time. However, he emphasizes the importance of reviewing the generated content to ensure it aligns with the intended message. Shaun found a powerful feature in a video tool that allows him to click on it and watch it back. Below the video, there is functionality that provides next action steps, enhancing productivity through AI. During meetings, this tool itemizes tasks and assignments in bullet points, with the responsible party and task description. Although AI has the ability to generate images, Shaun acknowledges that its current performance in this area is only satisfactory. He encourages business owners to approach AI with an open mind and excitement, promising that matching the right tool with a task will yield significant benefits. Shaun offers to discuss AI further via email at hello@bluecowmarketing.com, providing an opportunity for listeners to explore the topic in more depth. He also mentions a tool that uses AI to transcribe and cut uploaded videos into different reels for various platforms. This tool also provides descriptions, keywords, and hashtags for the videos. However, Shaun finds the editing capabilities of this tool unsatisfactory and plans to stop using it in the future, anticipating the release of a better altern

This unfortunately is a common thing when it comes to growing a business. You start out with a ton of time, energy, and drive. You provide amazing work and you get more clients. Then you max out your time. So you bring on someone else (most times quickly) and they don't provide the same level of service. So you start to get unhappy clients. You are too busy to fix the issue so you continue on and it gets worse and worse. What went wrong? Well the problem, in this case, is you didn't set yourself up for scaling and growth and document the proper things to allow for bringing on someone else. In this episode, I share with you a real-life example I just experienced in my personal life today about this. If you've been following the dialog in Canada this week around the dismissal of Lisa Laflamme, you will know there is a strong public support for her and that CTV's decision was sexist. This is a huge movement and a few Canadian brands have jumped on board for support. I felt it was worth talking about it from the side of when should you use your brand to support messaging and movements.

eWebinar Cofounder and CEO, Melissa Kwan, has spent twelve years in startups and built three successful companies without venture capital backing. Her previous startup, a real estate tech company, was acquired in 2019. As a revenue-driven founder specializing in sales and business development, she has learned how to build companies with very few resources — by automating what she could, outsourcing wherever possible, and inspiring talented people to join her team with shared focus and enthusiasm. Over the last decade, Melissa has come to believe that happiness should be the foundation of one’s career, not the other way around, and that the way to achieve this is by intentionally designing one’s life. This belief was born in part from the soul-crushing experience Melissa endured giving the same webinar over and over again while onboarding and training customers for her previous SaaS company. She wanted to free others from the same trap by giving them a way to automate their repetitive webinars, so they could get their time back and spend it doing something else they value more instead of being tied to Zoom all the time. The way you think about yourself, your business and what you have to offer others can be greatly increased by resetting your mindset each and every morning. This is something we aren't conditioned to do naturally as humans, but when it's practiced repeatedly you brain begins to take it as something that is normal. In this episode I challenge you to think differently about you, your business and your lifestyle. Take the time to listen to what I have to say and do the exercise I prescribe at the end.
